All-New 2023 Nissan Ariya Arrives For All To Experience

Written By, Brad R

The time for Nissan to be the first brand to offer the nation's most exciting electric SUV has arrived. Just like when the Nissan Leaf took the nation by storm as the first EV to gain any traction in the nation back in 2010. The first electric car to become widely available helped lift the Nissan brand into a new level of innovation. The 2023 Nissan Ariya looks to do the same as this ride carries an impressive 285 MPGe to go with its 238 horsepower engine. The next phase for Nissan is coming and the schedule ahead will be massive for the brand.

The Ariya was designed to delight. look seamless and expensive, "Design is probably its strongest suit, " features editor Christian Seabaugh said. The interior carries touch-sensitive buttons integrated into the wood trim. Providing unique interior perks is one way Nissan plans to bring buyers in. Two new features are the motorized center armrest and the power-operated under-dash drawer and its sliding lid. The Nissan brand calls this a "slide-out table" for use as a mobile headquarters or on-the-go picnic table.

"It offers gentle power delivery and an approachable driving experience for first-time EV buyers," Duncan Brady, MotorTrend associate editor commented.

Remarks From Those Who Have Test-Driven the 2023 Ariya

The Ariya's Pro Pilot Assist 2.0 configuration will deliver hands-off driving on mapped roads with lane centering on other drives. The E-Pedal mode provides one-pedal driving to a point; the driver simply steps on the brake pedal to fully stop. Regarding hands-on driving, this is a more than capable option. " Steering is light and comfortable, and it rides fairly well, nothing wrong with that," according to MotorTrend editors.

The front-drive/large-battery combo offers a range of 289 miles, and other models will fall between 216 and 304 miles. Fast charging, meanwhile, taps out at 130 kW, charging from 20 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes. The entry-level Ariya comes with Front-Wheel-Drive and the smaller battery. This entry option begins at $44,485 MSRP. The perks of driving a new vehicle that offers this much innovation is one that should be noted by our readers. This is not the last Nissan EV coming down the pike, as we've known. Take a look at these Nissan concepts that were shown at the 2022 Chicago Auto Show earlier this year.
