NowCar Car Awards 2020 Review

Highlighting Some of the Automotive Winners of 2020

Written By, Jordan R

At NowCar, we’re able to get our hands on virtually any vehicle. With that in mind, we like to brag about the many brands we work with and all the accomplishments they earn each year. 2020 is coming to an end, and although there’s still time for awards and accolades, we’d like to take some time to review the success of the automakers during a year that hit everyone in the industry pretty hard. Check out all the good news you may have missed in 2020.

2020 J.D. Power Results

J.D. Power is a large name in the auto industry. Heck, it’s a large name in every industry. J.D. Power and Associates is an American data analytics and consumer intelligence company founded in 1968 and has since then conducted many studies in various industries, ranking brands and products, all of which is based on surveys from real consumers. During the 2020 J.D. Power APEAL Study, or Automotive Performance Execution and Layout Study, surveys measured how owners’ emotional attachment and level of excitement with their new vehicle across 37 attributes categorized by a buyer’s specific tastes, wants and needs. There was also the 2020 Initial Quality Study, that ranked Kia Motors as the highest non-luxury brand, with the  Kia Forte and Kia Soul earning the highest marks in their respective automotive segments.

Fiat Chrysler At It Again

Every year, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) shows up many brands in the auto industry at just about every awards ceremony. If there is heavy competition, the FCA tends to go home with some of the gold, and during the AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, FCA won five awards thanks to the Dodge Challenger muscle car, Chrysler 300, Ram 1500, Alfa Romeo Giulia, and Alfa Romeo Stelvio. This is just the beginning.

Having released 4xe vehicles in 2020, Jeep won the title of the Hybrid Technology Solution of the Year with the Wrangler 4xe, a new masterpiece in off-road and hybrid technology. On that note, we’d also like to let all the dog lovers out there that Autotrader named two FCA vehicles on the 2020 10 Best List for Dog Lovers – the Chrysler Pacifica and the Jeep Wrangler. If wondering about Ram Trucks, don’t worry. We know all the truck lovers out there are wondering about the light duty pickup truck, and Ram definitely won big when they landed on a list by U.S. News and another by Car and Driver.

U.S. News & World Report provides consumers with an in-depth analysis of vehicles, published reviews and test drives, as well as reliability and safety data on all new vehicles all-year long. U.S. News then ranks each automotive brand and the automaker with the highest average rating takes home the gold for its respective automotive class. Ram won the Best Truck Brand for 2021 out of 34 competitors for the second consecutive year.

Car and Driver 10Best

Car and Driver is well known for providing consumers with in-depth reviews and analysis, features, and car buying advice since 1955, and their 10Best list focuses on vehicles that excel in purpose, value, and motivation. The Ram 1500 landed on this list. Know who also landed on this prestigious list? The 2020 Kia Telluride and the Mazda CX-5 landed on the Car and Driver 10 Best List for 2020.
