Dodge Unveils the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock

Written By, Jordan R

Dodge has been boasting its high-performance muscle cars and engines for decades, but since the muscle car automaker announced that it would soon have to put some of its powertrains to rest in favor of plug-in hybrid or even all-electric variants, the gloves are off. Every year, another push of horsepower and performance finds its way into the Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, and even the Dodge Durango. Two years ago, Dodge produced the most powerful straight from the factory muscle car, and succeeded, with the 840-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, a masterpiece that was as impractical as it was powerful. Since then, Dodge has tried to improve evert muscle car since, without going too overboard. The latest addition to the lineup is the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock model.

Like the Dodge Challenger models before it, the Challenger SRT Super Stock pushes the envelope of power. Also, like the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye and Challenger R/T Scat Pack, the SRT Super Stock comes with SRT Demon parts. Equipped with a new suspension, a new wheel and drag radial combination with 18-inch-by-11-inch wheels in Low Gloss Granite finish, wrapped in sticky 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R drag tires the SRT Super Stock extra grip for keeping traction. A tweaked supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® high-output V8 engine sits under the hood, able to generate 807 horsepower and 707 lb.-ft. of torque, needs some strong stopping power, and a Brembo brake system, made up of lightweight all-aluminum four-piston brake calipers and 14.2-inch vented rotors, will do just fine. All of this tuning leads to a vehicle that can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.25 seconds, finish a quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds at 131 mph, and has a top speed of 168 mph.

“I swore that we’d never build another Demon and we won’t…But I also said that every Challenger Hellcat and Redeye comes with an unspoken commitment to uphold the brand and the new Challenger SRT Super Stock is engineered to do just that.” - Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America

Sure feels like am SRT Demon. Especially with the SRT Demon features that made their way into the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock model. These include the following:

  •       Launch assist
  •       Launch control
  •       Line lock
  •       Torque reserve
  •       Race cooldown
  •       SRT Performance Pages
  •       SRT Power Chiller

There are also some special features that come with the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. For instance, it doesn’t come with any special badging that sets it apart from other Dodge Challengers in the lineup. It’s a type of incognito look the vehicle is going for, where only the owner and true Dodge muscle car fans can tell the difference. It’s part of the “if you know, you know” slogan the automaker has been touting recently. Everything that sets it apart is the engineering that goes into the SRT Super Stock, and driver features like drag-focused driving modes built in that allow the driver to pick from several modes to configure the transmission, paddle shifters, traction, suspension, and steering based on their driving style. These modes include Auto (Street) mode, Sport mode, Track mode, and Custom mode.

Looking for a little personalization? Dodge has released some special paint colors for this model. Consumers can choose from F8 Green, Frostbite, Go Mango, Granite, Hellraisin, IndiGo Blue, Octane Red, Pitch Black, Sinamon Stick, Smoke Show, TorRed, Triple Nickel, or White Knuckle. The interior cabin can be given some attitude with Black, Demonic Red, and Sepia.

Best of all, this 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock isn’t a limited-edition run. For all of 2021, the SRT Super Stock will be available. Dealers will start taking orders this summer (2020), and units will start arriving by the end of the year.
