Ram Trucks Getting A Lot of Upgrades for 2020

Written By, Jordan R

Every day we get closer to the end of the year and automakers can’t wait to already start sharing information and specs about their new model year vehicles. Automobile group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is one automaker not hiding anything, already giving us a great look at all the new model year of Ram trucks will have to offer. New editions and appearance packages, a new powertrain, and all new and improved capabilities. What more can a truck lover ask for? And you can find the newest 2020 Ram trucks on NowCar when you shop for a car online.

Appearances Are Everything

To some people, that concept may be true. Well, if in the market for a new 2020 Ram 1500, consumers are in luck. Two appearance upgrades are coming to the 2020 lineup, one of which is returning for the mighty Ram 1500 Rebel. Can you guess what it is?

It’s the Ram Rebel Black Appearance Group. Available on the 2020 Ram Rebel, consumers can get a Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat paint job contrasted with black 18-inch wheels, a black front spoiler, skid plate, badging, tow hooks, and exhaust, and LED headlamps that come with black bezels. As the name suggests, consumers will find that the interior cabin is also all black, but a Black and Ruby Red interior is available if looking to mix things up. Another upgrade group added to the 2020 Ram Rebel is the new Rebel Safety Group, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, Go and Hold, Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning-Plus and automatic high-beam headlamps.

Like the Ram Rebel, only some of the best and most sought-after trims get a special appearance package or limited edition. The 2020 Ram 1500 keeps up the tradition by offering the Ram 1500 Night Edition on Big Horn and Laramie models for 2020. Following the dark tradition of Rebel Black, the Ram 1500 Night Edition uses a monochromatic design of a lightly colored paint job enhanced with a black theme everywhere else. This includes the grille, grille surround, badging, wheels (20-inch on Big Horn, 22-inch on Laramie), exhaust tips, and dark bezels featured around the headlamps and taillights.

New Power Options

In case unaware, the 2020 Ram 1500 is getting a new EcoDiesel engine. This new 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine is nothing to snort at, able to generate the highest half-ton diesel torque at 480 lb-ft and the highest half-ton diesel towing capacity of 12,560 pounds. With a starting MSRP of $36,890 (plus a destination fee), the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is power on a budget. The same powertrain has found its way on the 2020 Ram 1500 Classic model and is available for the 2020 Ram Rebel!

New Safety Options

Safety is key when selling vehicles. With all the new additions for light-duty pickup trucks, Ram didn’t forget about their HD lineup. The 2020 Ram Heavy Duty now comes with Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Steering across the lineup. Specific trims will be able to add blind-spot Monitoring with easy-to-use trailer coverage onto the truck. Two new paint options have been added – Olive Green and Hydro Blue –and consumers now have the option of a 50-gallon fuel tank on Crew Cab models with an 8-foot truck bed. Lastly, a little flair, consumers can now get the Power Wagon with black wheels.

As we get closer to the end of the year, more information about 2020 models will continue to leak out. Follow NowCar social media to learn more about how you can get great deals by shopping for a car online.
