One of the premiere SUV options has arrived: the all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. While we just commented on some of the perks we learned about the Nissan product, we now have even more information on this all-new 2022 Pathfinder. Nissan has wanted to expand the available space and comfort for drivers and passengers alike. Consider the changes including the addition of 10.6 more cubic feet of interior volume than the previous model. Nissan has sought to maximize every inch with added family confidence as a top focus. While creating the Pathfinder, engineers kept the overall vehicle dimensions alike, adding only particular design changes – including a larger track width and overall vehicle width, and a widened rear wheelhouse. This will provide for 164.6 cubic feet of total interior volume, increased from 154.0 cubic feet from the prior generation. 

“We closely analyzed every angle to make this vehicle as versatile as possible, while also delivering on rugged capability. Our goal was to turn Pathfinder into a multi-tool on wheels – making this the go-to SUV for hard-working, adventurous families,” said Jared Haslam, vice president, Product, and Services Planning, Nissan U.S. and Canada. 

Changes to the Pathfinder

Buyers will note the all-new 2022 Pathfinder now offers more obvious cargo and family storing areas. Engineers crafted many other everyday utility benefits, including room for up to eight passengers, a first on Pathfinder. The seating accommodates three seats in the second row and two now in the third row. For the first time, an option for captain’s chairs is included and they are easy to assemble with a no-tools-needed to remove them.  allowing items up to 7 inches wide to pass between the seats. Easier entry/exit to and from the 3rd row with Nissan’s EZ FLEX® one-touch seating, which now pitches the seat forward to provide a wide opening from the driver or on the passenger side. 

More Room In the Pathfinder Than Previous Generation 

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder provides plenty of front-seat legroom, best-in-class at 44.3 inches. Nissan included posh features like an easy-to-clean luggage box with a self-supporting hinge lid that allows 54.1 liters of storage space – up from 33.3 liters on the previous model year. The 2022 Pathfinder offers 19.5 liters of storage in the middle, about three times as much as the previous model.

A new storage shelf sits above the glove compartment, perfect for phones, sunglasses, or like-sized items, and the glovebox features a strap to securely store the owner’s manual while offering additional storage space. Pathfinder also now gains 16 beverage holders for passengers and the owner alike to enjoy. With additional features, the Pathfinder has increased its ability to gain customers that might want to opt for a minivan or large SUV. The all-new Nissan Pathfinder will welcome those looking for a new brand to go to.
