Nissan Has Built the Ideal SUV In the All-New 2022 Pathfinder

Written By, Brad R

Buyers drawn towards quality SUVs in the modern market can not do much better than what Nissan has cooked up and built with the all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. As production has begun in the United States, the fifth-generation Nissan SUV result is continuing to be manufactured at Decherd Powertrain Plant with nearby sourced production parts. The Nissan brand is concentrating on improving the vehicle, some of the components will be utilized from the previous generation; most prominently the D-segment platform. This suggests we presume the wheelbase to inhabit the same at 114.2 inches in length. But, one large change comes from the switch to a nine-speed automatic transmission built by ZF Friedrichshafen. We knew this update was coming for the Nissan brand

Replacing the Previous-Generation Transmission

Transmissions are crucial as they serve as the device most accountable for securing the movement of the gas pedal to the engine. The previous generation Pathfinder equipped a continuously variable transmission (CVT). CVTs are a thing of history today as motorists have often regarded the push from a traditional automatic transmission as faster, allowing for drivers to truly battle on the road with some sheer force. While automatic transmissions are surely not as steady as an experienced manual transmission driver can make a vehicle drive, CVTs were made in an effort for brands to help drivers save gasoline. However, CVTs lack the strength to offer buyers that "go" necessary when driving. The previous generation's CVT also had primary issues upon its debut back in 2012. (Writers on the other hand are happy that CVTs are becoming a thing of the past as the term never made grammatical sense and still doesn't.) We commend Nissan for executing the switch both as a smart move for drivers and readers alike.

Upgrades At the Right Time

Nissan has been a leader in providing improvements to their vehicles. The upgrades come cosmetically in the form of a new grille and bumper designs, added reverse c-shaped headlights, slimmer tail lights, and a wide palette of body color options with Nissan offering 14 different colors. The available options include second-row captain's chairs, ProPilot Assist with Navi-Link for navigation tips, a 10.8-inch HUD screen and tons of standard safety features. The selection of front or all-wheel-drive is a nice touch and the horsepower should arrive in the expected 300 range. While we are awaiting the final specs to be issued, we have plenty of brand new Nissan options awaiting our readers here at NowCar
