Dodge, Stellantis CEO Gives Support To Dodge Brand and Muscle Car Future

Written By, Brad R

The heart-racing rush of pressing down on the gas pedal for the entire Dodge lineup is something to behold. Owners that were expecting the near future of the brand to change dramatically when Stellantis took over as the parent company of Dodge, won't have to be concerned as much. Dodge isn't going to change overnight how its business is run; a welcome sigh of relief for all Dodge loyalists and customers' expectations. While all automakers involved in the industry have made some restrictions to change for the upcoming wave of EVs to hit the market, Dodge is still going to do its own thing. Yes, the future is headed towards electric vehicles, but Dodge will not only be a part of that change, but they will also still push to offer high-octane, heart-pumping fun.

The Future Is Upon Us

As the landscape changes, we are happy to point out to all our readers the importance of why brands are making the shift now away from fossil fuels, which includes gasoline. How close has Dodge come to keeping its promises for 2023? Today, the scene of muscle cars is running on fumes, much in the way the sedan has been phased out of the market place. While things aren't exactly that bleak, especially for Dodge, a brand still seeing record highs in sales prior to the pandemic, we will see some of these exceptionally powerful vehicles become more fuel-efficient vehicles. The question is what will the trade-off be as Dodge aims to meet rigorous emissions standards. Can large V8 engines in single-passenger coupes like the Dodge Challenger be a thing of the future? According to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, this can happen.

A Close Look Into the Top Dog at Dodge Parent Company, Stellantis

While we don't expect the future of all Dodge vehicles to earn a high spot on the "Top 10 Most Fuel-efficient Vehicles List of 2022", we know they will aim to make this more of a possibility later in the decade. As we hope to see an all-EV Dodge muscle car like we were told would happen years back by the former Dodge CEO, we know the truth is somewhat in the middle from the stance the current CEO has remarked about. Just take a look at last year's new SRT Super Stock muscle car! Expect Dodge is to reinvent itself but still promote and offer to stimulate high-octane driver encounters. Dodge is expected to add several new trims across its lineup of muscle cars.

What Does the CEO Think Will Happen?

The new Stellantis CEO has said that the Dodge brand's recent 700 to 800 horsepower vehicles will have to come to terms with the reality that electric components are desired and need to be added. That hasn't stopped the CEO from striving to accelerate the development of an EV Dodge to commence earlier rather than later. We suppose the Dodge brand to keep playing the game especially fast, impressive vehicle making and the Dodge Durango, Charger, and Challenger, but not without some surprises. As the CEO remarked, he will certainly ensure all the technological aspects are covered and the growth of the brand will continue.

"It's something we have to work on. There are solutions for that. We have the technology to deliver the torque, dynamics, and acceleration feeling, while also dramatically reducing the emissions," said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.

We're delighted for the fate of the Dodge brand including a focus on EVs, we are years from seeing the results of that hard work awaiting Stellantis and Doge. Keep in mind, we at NowCar offer plenty of vehicles that can help drivers save big on gas. For readers looking to bring home the power of Dodge muscle, we are ready to make that happen!
