When it comes to family cars, consumers want to know a couple of things. How many people can it seat? Are there entertainment options to keep everyone occupied for a long car ride? What are the convenience options? These days, seven-passenger vehicles come in many shapes and sizes with varying options and configurations. Take these three vehicles for an example - the Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Durango, and Chevrolet Tahoe are all available with seating for seven passengers and the vehicles and seats can be configured based on the consumer or driver’s needs and offer plenty of options to keep the entire family happy while on the road.
The 2018 Chrysler Pacifica is flat-out listed as a seven-passenger vehicle. Being a minivan with second-row bucket seats and a third-row bench seat standard, that’s a total seven people. If consumers wish, they can turn the two bucket seats in the second row into a three-passenger bench seat, increasing the vehicle’s passenger capacity to eight people. The Pacifica’s third-row bench seat is a 60/40 split-bench seat and it can be reconfigured for cargo storage options.

Whether in need of seating for seven or eight passengers, or a handful of passengers and large cargo items, or only two passengers and a whole bunch of space in the rear for storage, there’s dozens of ways for users to easily configure the van for their needs.
The 2018 Dodge Durango is another great choice for families, especially for its various seating options. The Durango is available with seating for five, six, or seven passengers. The 2018 Dodge Durango comes standard with a driver and front passenger seat and a second-row bench seat and buyers have the option to add a third row of seats on the Durango SXT.
The third row of seats is only available as a bench seat for two people, and consumers can opt-in for a second-row bench seat or stick with the standard second-row bucket seats. If sticking to the standard setup, the total passenger capacity is six. If opting in for a second-row bench seat, then that option results in a seven-passenger seating capacity. The total storage space when all of the rear seats and the front passenger seat are folded is 84.5 cu. ft. of space.
The 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe is available with seating for seven or eight passengers depending on the options selected. The standard setup on the Chevy Tahoe seats eight passengers and it consists of a second-row 60/40 split-bench seat and a 60/40 split-bench third-row seat. The Tahoe is also available with second-row bucket seats, and that option reduces the vehicle’s seating capacity to seven people. If both rows of the rear seats are folded down, consumers can make use of 94.7 cu. ft. of cargo space.
