Special Edition Chevy SUVs and an All-New Silverado Built From Customer Input

Written By, Brad R.

Chevrolet has listened to their customer's feedback and recently announced some changes to their vehicle stock. Chevy will expand the availability of the 6.2-Liter V8 engine within its full-size SUV lineup with the introduction of the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban Premier Plus special editions. The 6.2-Liter V8 first appeared in Chevy’s full-size SUV lineup on the 2018 Tahoe RST 6.2-Liter Performance Package. The engine recently debuted on the 2019 Chevy Suburban RST 6.2-Liter Performance Package.

Chevy customers can enjoy All Premier Plus edition Chevy full-size SUVs, as well as RST Premier models with the optional 6.2-Liter Performance Package. They all feature Magnetic Ride Control with performance calibration and a Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic transmission. Helping Chevy customers enjoy the best ride possible has always been the automakers goal. Getting what their customers want and implementing that into their vehicles helps Chevy maintain their status among the best brands in the auto industry.

“Our customers have shown strong demand for both Tahoe and Suburban with the 6.2-Liter V8 option. Thirty-six percent of all Chevy full-size SUV special edition models are now sold with this engine. Premier Plus gives both Suburban and Tahoe customers another option to choose from with several added premium touches.” said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Trucks Marketing and Advertising.

More of the 2019 Silverado 1500 and Tahoe

The 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 is a fully redesigned full-size truck that’s back to earn customers with its unique style and high-performance power. The Chevy Silverado offers up to 22 highway mpg and a maximum towing capacity of 11,900 pounds. The 2019 Silverado has a $38,563 MSRP (plus destination fee). The Chevy Tahoe is a full-size SUV that carries a bold style and has been America’s best-selling full-size SUV and offers the best-in-class V8 highway fuel economy at 22 mpg. The Tahoe begins at $47,900 MSRP (plus destination fee.)

The 2019 Chevy Tahoe is currently in the 4th generation and gains a new Shadow Gray Metallic color and all versions of the Chevy Tahoe use a body-on-frame design to give more of a truck-like feel and ride experience with greater ground clearance than most SUVs. Rear-wheel drive is standard with the optional four-wheel drive coming at an extra cost.

Both of these new Chevy vehicles carry the available 6.2-Liter V8 engine. With 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, this engine contains vast power and delivers three state-of-the-art technologies comprised of Active Fuel Management, direct injection and continuously variable valve timing (CVVT). CVVT makes the most of power, torque and promotes fuel efficiency across a broad range of operating conditions.

More on the New Special Editions

With the 2019 Tahoe and Suburban Premier Plus editions, they both feature a unique interior with heated and ventilated Black/Mahogany-colored leather-appointed front seats against a Jet Black trim surround. This premium two-tone interior and 22-inch polished wheels make their first appearance in Chevy’s full-size SUV lineup with the Premier Plus special editions. The 10-speed automatic transmission offers smaller steps between each ratio to maximize engine power under acceleration. With a wide 7.39 overall gear ratio spread and lower numerical top gear ratio, the transmission also reduces engine revolutions at highway speeds.

Magnetic Ride Control is an active suspension that tracks the road every millisecond, triggering damping changes in the electronically controlled shock absorbers rapidly and continuously. As a result, the suspension delivers improved body-motion control during cornering and a more comfortable ride while cruising. This is just some of the amazing technology provided by Chevy for their customers.
