Nissan Placing Another $500 Million Towards U.S. Plant

Written By, Brad R

Nissan informed the world and investors of yet another investment of a tremendous $500 million to be fused into its Canton, Mississippi, assembly factory. The Nissan brand is set to deliver the newest electric vehicle manufacturing technology for its upcoming Nissan vehicles. Following the updates, the plant will add two all-new, all-electric vehicles beginning in 2025. These new large investments over the last several years will further demonstrate the savvy moves the brand has set up. These investment choices were pushed in place after gaining a new CEO at the end of the last decade; a CEO who has helped shape the company to grow by leaps and bounds.

“Today’s announcement is the first of several new investments that will drive the EV revolution in the United States. Nissan is making a strong investment in Canton’s future, bringing the latest technology, training, and process to create a truly best-in-class EV manufacturing team," said Ashwani Gupta, chief operating officer, Nissan Motor Corporation, Ltd

The New Nissan Lineup Will Have Lots of EV Support

After an extensive Nissan investment that applies to this plant gaining an update and training for the 2,000 employees who utilize it. Nissan has set aside over $13.5 billion in its U.S. manufacturing procedures for their EV lineup and new vehicles set to debut in the United States and globally in the coming years. News like this should only encourage consumer growth into the latest electric vehicles being built. The future has arrived with technology that allows for greater savings for both the owner and reducing pollution. The next-generation EVs and the different kinds of batteries automakers use to operate them is a large focus.

The goal for Nissan is extending the EV capabilities they have already mastered. Nissan’s path of upgrading current electrification tech rests on creating a new ASSB, or all-solid-state battery. Nissan is close to offering “a breakthrough” for obtaining more cost effective pricing and producing more power than batteries currently used today. Electric powertrains are set to be more efficiently utilized in pickups, vans, and other heavier vehicles since the batteries can be smaller. We look forward to seeing what the Nissan brand will create and offer for customers.
