Nissan Continues To Improve Brand For 2021 Model Year

Written By, Brad R

Nissan continues to reshape its brand offering more for customers and keeping prices down despite the on-going Coronavirus outbreak that has hampered global automotive sales. The Nissan brand has added more standard features in the latest 2021 model year, including plenty of savings to go around. The turn around for the brand has come in a short amount of time and won many new owners over with its approach to handling the brand. Allow us to review the current shape we have noted Nissan is undertaking to provide more options while upgrading their entire catalog in the coming years.

Upgrades To New 2021 Nissan Models

The 2021 Nissan Sentra and Altima were both updated with many new features including standard Nissan Safety Shield 360 and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is the first time these features have been added without an additional cost to the owners. The 2021 Sentra is entering its second year in its current generation and boasts updates to its top-tier trim, the SR. The SR receives a two-tone paint job, fits 18-inch wheels, includes a freshly added dark chrome grille, LED headlights, a rear spoiler, newly added sport cloth interior with orange stitching.

Perks of the base trim, S, have been upgraded as well. Keyless entry and new 16-inch steel wheels are added. The mid-tier SV trim offers a new larger 8-inch touchscreen with adaptive cruise control and a six-speaker audio system. Nissan includes for the Sentra a lone powertrain choice; the sturdy 2.0-Liter four-cylinder engine that provides 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to help save gasoline and provide better fuel efficiency.

Where Does Nissan Go From Here?

We know the Nissan brand is excited to push the future of its brand, the electric vehicle known as the Ariya. This will be a fully EV capable lineup that is expected to debut in mid-2021. Nissan has stated it will begin to transform its entire lineup with EV options for all vehicles in the coming years. Nissan will also add 12 new models within an 18-month period, despite lowering production by 20 percent. The Nissan brand is ahead of the curve by comparison to other brands on this front and all the possibilities will be celebrated and eventually added for our customers to buy in the future at NowCar.
