Jeep Wrangler 4xe Leads All EVs Sales In Third-Q For Stellantis

Written By, Brad R

Stellantis reports 385,665 vehicle sales in the US during the third quarter of 2022, which is 6% fewer than a year ago. Year-to-date, the group saw the sale of nearly 1.2 million automobiles, but this figure is also lower compared to next year. This is not exactly a huge problem as there are brands that have done quite well and vehicles that have exceeded expectations to a large degree. Stellantis is moving on a massive scale to build the vehicles that were quite impressive like the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. The 4xe trim and PHEV rides are set to be incorporated all over the place in the coming years.

Stellantis is still operating despite bearing to less than normal market with what they depict as "challenging industry supply constraints", simply due to chip shortages and the fall out of 2020 and the never ending Coronavirus issues. Globally, Stellantis notes all plug-in hybrid sales are still robust in 2022. The release of the third-quarter sales is a representation of the immediate impact the brand has created and will continue to pursue.

More Than 15,000 PHEVs Sold In Just One Quarter

Stellantis announced in a press release that they accounted for over 15,500 PHEVs in the third-quarter of 2022. That's an impressive number for a single quarter. The documented figures comprise 13,478 Jeep Wrangler 4xe mid-size SUVs and 2,087 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid (PHEV) minivans. While that is presently roughly 4.0% of Stellantis' total volume. In the matter of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the plug-in hybrid rose to 28% of total Jeep Wrangler sales. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid represented 12% of all Chrysler Pacifica minivan sales. Stellantis has put together the funds to add more EV battery plant support and readies for the next wave of EVs set to come to customers in this decade and beyond.

In August, Stellantis opened the order book for the Jeep Cherokee 4xe so we can presume that the electrification of Stellantis will continue to move upward. Other brands are also readying to establish new plug-ins in the future. Rival brands Ford and General Motors seem to be more immersed in battery-electric vehicles, Stellantis presumably will evolve into the leading automaker of plug-in hybrids in North America. The first all-electric models are coming and we couldn't be happier to showcase these exciting new rides with our readers. Keep in mind that these new EV plants and first look at the 4xe trim that began with the Wrangler is just the beginning for Stellantis.
