Jeep Promotes First-Ever Freedom Edition Gladiator

Written By, Brad R

Jeep has revealed the newest carnation of the Freedom Edition package for the upcoming 2023 Jeep Wrangler mid-size SUV and 2023 Jeep Gladiator pickup. The Jeep brand has not released this special edition since the 2020 model year, as the Jeep Freedom Editions created a return for 2023. Formerly available only on the Wrangler, the Gladiator gains the limited edition as well this time around. The special package formed way back in 2011. Jeep toiled with the Military Sales Corporation to design a trim that would market only to active service members overseas, and Jeep only made 200 of them. Producing a new version every two or three years after the first Freedom Edition came out, delivering the commemorative edition to the public in 2014. The extra features list has been pared quite a bit since those earlier examples, which were created on the upper Sahara trim and came with equipment like the performance suspension, several convenience packages, and an abundance of Mopar accessories. Jeep has gone all out and offering some of their biggest vehicles.

Introducing the 2023 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator

Today, both the 2023 Wrangler and Gladiator Freedom Editions are assembled on the Sport S trims, which begin at $34,790 MSRP for the two-door Wrangler and $42,165 for the Jeep Gladiator pickup. They get Oscar Mike badges that symbolize military slang for "on the move" or "on mission," American flag decals outside, LED lighting, body-colored fender flares, rock rails, and black wheels. Regarding the interior, both the leather and cloth trim come with black accent stitching. The container offers $3,295, and active and recently retired service members gain $500 in military bonus cash for this special edition.

Jeep didn't sound off on the total number of units it will present with the container, but ordering is open currently and runs through the month of July. Every sale offers a $250 contributed to a military charity. The automaker strives to begin delivering rigs to dealers by Veterans Day, November 11.

“With our 1941 origins rooted in the military, we at the Jeep brand are proud of our heritage, and the Gladiator and Wrangler Freedom Editions are a tribute to all the servicemen and servicewomen. Through these special editions, this Fourth of July we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country and support those who have served and continue to serve,” added Jim Morrison, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep North America
