This year's highlights so-far
What’s to come for the future?
There are a few major changes being introduced to the Jeep model lineup in 2017 and 2018.
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat: confirmed to arrive in mid-2017
Jeep CEO Mike Manley confirmed that the rumored Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat is not only real, but the vehicle will be available in July 2017. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat will be powered by the same engine used in the modern day muscle cars, the Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat models. The SRT Hellcat engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
Jeep Wrangler pickup truck: estimated to arrive in late 2017
The Jeep Wrangler is a much anticipated new addition to the Jeep lineup. This pickup truck is the first time Jeep has entered the pickup market since 1992 when Jeep ended production on the XJ Cherokee-based Jeep Comanche. Unlike the Comanche, the Wrangler pickup is expected to be a 4-door truck and it is expected to have rugged military-like styling.
New generation Jeep Wrangler: estimated for 2017 or 2018
With a couple “spy” photos recently released by a couple different auto industry publications, it’s clear that people are excited to see how the Jeep Wrangler will look after its redesign. So far, what sources know about the future Wrangler is only speculation and is not very detailed. It appears that the vehicle will go from a 5-speed to an 8-speed automatic transmission and the vehicle has received a new suspension.
The Return of the Jeep Woody: estimated to arrive in late 2018
With the return of a Jeep pickup truck and a Jeep Grand Wagoneer (a.k.a Jeep “Woody”), it seems that the Jeep brand likes the idea of rekindling their past. Rumors about Jeep bringing back the Woody began in 2015 and it should be available in late 2018. The new SUV will feature 3-row seating and Jeep has said it will include luxury features.
