Jeep Is Poised To Offer More For Customers Globally Starting With Europe

Written By, Brad R

The digital tuning of the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon is receiving some praise and interest from outlets and online blogs. With tons of aftermarket upgrades available for the Jeep Gladiator, we know there are many choices owners have. Among the choices we have here in the United States, we are lucky compared to the buyers in Europe. The choices are scarce for businesses like Prior Design, a German company that takes a production vehicle and creates a bigger and more improved vehicle. In the case of the 2021 Jeep Gladiator, the team spent a great deal of time working on making the Gladiator even more imposing. The addition of high-clearance fenders and an added suspension lift with remote-reservoir shock absorbers and added beefy mud-terrain rubber tires. But, what is the market like for the Jeep brand in Europe?

Some Differences Between US and European Vehicles

The European-spec Gladiator has a 3.0-Liter EcoDiesel V6 engine that supplies 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. The United States version is a 3.6-Liter engine, but the Prior Design contains the addition of new dual steps on either side of the vehicle, a powder-coated sports bar, a bull bar, and two full-size spare wheels in the bed. This is not the first time Prior Design has created a new take on a Jeep vehicle, including the Jeep Rubicon. It's interesting to note, how Europe doesn't receive every trim sold in other markets like here in the United States. The European trims for the Gladiator and Rubicon include the Sport, Overland, and Launch Edition flavors. That's about all owners can find over in Europe; we should be so lucky.

Will the Jeep Brand Make An Impact In Europe In 2021?

Now, when taking a closer look at the sales between the United States and Europe, Jeep sold 77,542 vehicles in the USA. However, the Gladiator just launched late last year in December 2020. What will Jeep learn about the brand in Europe? Maybe the success overseas will allow the parent company of Jeep, Stellantis, to reconsider promoting the vehicle even heavier over there. Jeep owners of the Gladiator gain the full-time Selec-Trac 4x4 system and a standard two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio and Dana 44 front and rear axles with a 3.73:1 rear-axle ratio.
