NowCar Build 2018 Kia Stinger

Building a 2018 Kia Stinger

Written By, Jordan R.

It’s here, it’s really finally here! The Kia Stinger is ready for orders and just like other Kia dealers, NowCar allows you to pick the trim and package options you want. Today we’re gonna take a look at the new improved 2018 Kia Stinger lineup as well as the building wizard to go over the various options one may run into when building their very own 2018 Kia Stinger.

Lineup

The 2018 Kia Stinger is available in five trims - the 2018 Kia Stinger 2.0L, Premium, GT, GT1, and GT2. The 2.0L and Premium trims are powered by a Twin Scroll Turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine capable of generating 255 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission, these two trims have a fuel economy of 22/29 mpg city/highway when equipped with a rear-wheel drivetrain (RWD). There is only a minor decrease of 1 mpg in the city when the Stinger is fitted with an all-wheel drivetrain (AWD).

The Stinger GT trims are all powered by Twin Turbocharged 3.3 liter V6 with a little more oomph! This engine delivers 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. Also paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the Stinger GT trims have an average fuel economy of 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

Building

If you go to the 2018 Kia Stinger build page on NowCar, you’ll see all five Kia Stinger trims present. There is the option to upgrade to AWD for an extra $2,200. Regardless of the drivetrain selected, once a trim is chosen, press the “NEXT: COLORS & PACKAGES” button to proceed. Here you are offered color choices and an options package to add advanced automatic safety features.

The available colors differ for each trim, with the base trim (Stinger 2.0L) only having three exterior color choices (Snow White Pearl, Silky Silver, and Aurora Black Pearl), whereas the rest of the trims have four or more. The Stinger Premium adds Micro Blue Pearl as a color choice, and the GT trims also add on HiChroma Red, Micro Blue Pearl, and Panthera Metal. All trims have one interior color choice -  black leather.

All trims but the Stinger GT2* may opt in for the “Kia Drive Wise Package.” This package adds on the following advanced safety features - Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA), Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) (only available on the base, 2.0L), and Rain Sensing Variable Intermittent Windshield Wipers. The next page has several options for adding aesthetic appeal or increased functionality, and may be purchased individually for as low as $50.

All of the features have to be read via the specs page or clicking “MORE DETAILS” on the “TRIM” page when building a 2018 Kia Stinger. Rest easy though, because nearly all features are shared across the lineup. Not a single Stinger is getting the raw-end of the deal on this sports car. Be sure to check our inventory and build your 2018 Kia Stinger with us for instant price quotes, savings, and availability.
