Affordable New Cars Available at NowCar

Written By, Jordan R.

When looking for an affordable new car, it’s a good bet that checking the internet and doing some research before you buy will help land you a good deal. Sites like Kelley Blue Book make lists of the most affordable vehicles, but they don’t show shoppers the deals, including the deals at NowCar, where shoppers can buy a car online at an awesome price without leaving their home. Below are some of the most affordable vehicles you can buy online.

Fuel Efficiency

If you want a car that can go far with fewer fill ups as the goal, then these vehicles should do the trick.

The 2017 Chevrolet Sonic has a starting MSRP of $15,145. Powered by an ECOTEC 1.8-liter I4 engine, it has a dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) 4-valve design for better efficiency. Many new cars come with a DOHC or similar design due to the tension it takes off of the engine parts by splitting the work between two camshafts versus one. The 2017 Chevrolet Sonic has a fuel economy of 25/33 mpg city/highway.

The good thing about buying a car online is all the choices are there in front of you. If the Chevy Sonic wasn’t quite what you were looking for in terms of fuel efficiency, then the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage will surely get your attention. It has a starting MSRP of $12,995 and a fuel economy of 37 mpg in the city, 43 mpg on the highway. That’s thanks to this new car’s 1.2-liter MIVEC DOHC I3 engine. The DOHC design is one thing, but MIVEC is a variable valve timing (VVT) technology designed by Mitsubishi for optimal performance of an engine cylinder’s timing events, helping to improve its efficiency further.

If modern style and technology is on the list, then Kia vehicles will surely win over some hearts. The 2017 Kia Rio starts at $14,165 and gets 27 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway. Like all new Kia vehicles, it comes with UVO eServices, an infotainment system found in many new cars by Kia Motors. With its own set of separate style, the Kia Rio is set apart from the hip 2017 Kia Soul, with a starting MSRP of $16,100 and a fuel economy of 25/30 mpg city/highway. When looking to buy a car online, also check out the many options a car may have - for instance, the 2017 Kia Optima can come as a standard vehicle for $22,200 or a hybrid or a PHE-Vehicle for a little more.

Not to leave out Chevy vehicles and their technology, some of their new cars may have decent fuel economy, but Chevrolet MyLink and built-in 4G wi-fi hot spots make vehicles like the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu really stand out. It’s fuel efficiency of 27/36 mpg city/highway isn’t too bad either, with a starting MSRP of $21,680.

Off-Road

Have we hit any hot buttons for you yet? If not, NowCar has a lot more in their selection of new cars. If going off-road is your thing, you know we have some of the best vehicles around just for that.

The 2017 Jeep Renegade is a tried and true off-road warrior. With a starting MSRP of $17,995 and a Trailhawk model available, buyers can get one of two 4x4 systems. The first being Active Drive 4x4, made with a standard brake lock differential, nothing fancy. Compare that to Active Drive Low on the Renegade Trailhawk, and low-speed traction is all you need for a little rock crawling.

Then there’s the loyal 2017 Jeep Wrangler. It’s the first vehicle to ever come out of Jeep and is still a classic. The Wrangler Rubicon comes with a 4x4 made for rock crawling, the Rock-Trac 4x4 system. However, it’s only available on the high-end Rubicon trim, whereas the Command-Trac 4x4 system comes with the base trim - a starting MSRP of $23,995. Shift from two-wheel drive to 4x4 on-the-fly with the Jeep Wrangler.

SUV

Then there’s the family man, the soccer mom, the driver that needs space for cargo and equipment. We got you covered at NowCar. You can find more than muscle cars and  family sedans when you buy a car online. Sometimes you need a SUV or crossover to get the job done.

The 2017 Kia Sportage is a popular choice. It has a starting MSRP of $23,200 and seats five. Enjoy listening to tunes using UVO, or feel the breeze with a panoramic sunroof. With only three trims, with only a slight increase in price for each, finding luxury in a Kia SUV won’t break the bank.

Last on the list is the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, the icon of Mitsubishi Motors. Getting improvement each year, this year the Outlander has a starting MSRP of $23,495. That price includes Mitsubishi’s continuous variable transmission (CVT), a type of automatic transmission designed to conserve fuel economy when switching gears via a continuous range of gear trains. Plus, with a seating capacity of seven, there’s room for everyone.

These are some of the most affordable new cars one can find when buying a car online at NowCar. However, it’s just a small selection of all we have to offer. Be sure to search for your new car online using our easy to use NowCar Walkthrough.
