Chevrolet, a division of American automaker General Motors Company, is known mostly for its trucks, namely the Chevrolet Silverado lineup, and the Silverado heavy-duty pickup truck. Like all trucks, the Chevrolet Silverado HD is great for tailgating parties, able to drop the liftgate for an easy seat and able to haul plenty of equipment and goods for those legendary “just-outside-the-stadium” tailgate parties. Although we’re soon entering summer, even Florida is known to have some cool nights, and an aftermarket parts manufacturer now offers the ability to warm up with a fire pit based off of the Chevy Silverado HD.

Now, this is an interesting concept. Sure, the crackling of a fire always adds to the ambiance of any setting, and the soft glow can be a bit romantic, but when someone said, “Can we?”, someone else should have said, “Should we?” Having a bonfire in the shape of a truck isn’t a sentence we thought we’d ever see, and yet Fab Fours, known for offering custom off-roader gear for various pickup truck and SUV models, including the Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Colorado, and Chevrolet Suburban, has designed a fire pit able to be installed in pickup trucks, and even modeled said fire pit on the Chevrolet Silverado HD. Now that is romantic.

Yes, a fire pit in question is literally in the shape of a Chevrolet Silverado HD, we’re not kidding. The image you see above is not a concept rendering for installing a fire pit into the tail bed, that is actually what the bonfire looks like. Crazy, right? A lot of details have gone into this novelty fire pit.

Offered at a 1:4 scale of the pickup truck, made with 16 gauge U.S. steel, the Chevrolet Silverado HD fire pit has all the signs of the pickup truck it’s meant to resemble. The design is complete with open fender flares, taillamps, door handle outlines, and big “40-inch” tires on each wheel. Get up close and check out the front fascia, built with a broad grille section, and, are those taillamps? At night, when the fire pit is glowing, the Chevrolet Silverado HD fire pit comes with cutouts for the taillamps to let some of the light out, giving the impression of real taillamps.

The bed of the fire pit is of course are where the firewood will be settled, making plenty of room to have an old-fashioned cookout. Sure, boiling a hotdog is easy, but the charred taste of a hot dog over an open flame goes great with jokes around a campfire. Fab Four is currently listing the Chevrolet Silverado HD fire pit at $425. Weighing about 50 pounds, it’s not too bad to transport, but probably best to put it down where you want it the first time around.
