The 2019 Ram 1500 debuted at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, and since then, the automaker has spent time slowly revealing each of its trims, refreshed and new, for the 2019 model year. First we got to see the new Laramie Longhorn, an homage to the old west, and then the Lone Star, which is limited to Texas, but known in other states as the Big Horn, and designed with exceptional capability. Following those two trims was the basic Tradesman, but Ram wasn’t done yet. Now, we have news about the 2019 Ram Limited trim and the limited edition 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition.
2019 Ram 1500 Limited
The Ram 1500 Limited is a high-end trim available on a variety of Ram models and the new Kentucky Derby Edition trims are based off of the Ram 1500 Limited models. Many convenient features can be found along the exterior of the Ram 1500 Limited, such as chrome tow hooks, and automatic power side steps. A lot of new aesthetic features can also be noted, including body-side molding, mirrors and door handle accents, standard 20-inch wheels or optional 22-inch wheels with painted inserts, and body-color fender flares. Also, consumers may opt-in for body-color bumpers on the 2019 Ram 1500 Limited.
The interior cabin is even better, designed with a segment-exclusive 100 percent full-grain hand-wrapped leather dashboard, door-panel coverings and armrests, accented with real aluminum and wood throughout the cabin, along with a wood upper glove box door with a metal inlaid "Limited" badge. Change the mood at night with ambient lighting to create a luxurious and soothing atmosphere for passengers. Keep everyone entertained with the next-generation Uconnect 4C on a 12-inch touchscreen, standard. For better sound, opt-in for the available 900-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon system.
Kentucky Derby®
Now that we know how great the 2019 Ram 1500 Limited Edition is, let’s talk Kentucky Derby. The Kentucky Derby is a horse race that is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. Being a part of the sponsorship for the Kentucky Derby, Ram trucks immerse the fans attending the races, and those watching the festivities on TV, in a total Ram Truck brand experience. Fans will see on-site truck displays, video board integrations, backcountry and trackside signage throughout Churchill Downs®, and more. To commemorate the 144th running of the Kentucky Derby and nine years of Ram trucks being the "Official Truck" of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby and exclusive automotive partner, Ram will launch the first truck to commemorate the event, the 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition.
2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition
To start off the design right, a key feature on the 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition models are the distinctive Kentucky Derby "Run for the Roses" fender graphics. Aside from this, the main aesthetic changes are an Ivory White Tri Coat paint, the first introduction of the paint job for the all-new Ram 1500 Limited, along with five additional exterior colors available for Kentucky Derby Edition consumers to choose from: Delmonico Red, Diamond Black Crystal, Granite Crystal, Max Steel or Patriot Blue. The Ram Kentucky Derby Edition will be available in 4x2 or 4x4 Crew Cab configurations with a 5’7” bed length.
Some key modern tech features consumers can expect in the 2019 Ram 1500 Limited Kentucky Derby Edition are Ram's exclusive Uconnect 12-inch touchscreen radio with Sirius XM 360L with navigation, four-corner auto-leveling air suspension, power-retracting running boards, trailer hitch with sway control, and blind spot monitor with automatic trailer detection. For some added interior comfort, the Kentucky Derby Edition also includes premium full-leather front and rear reclining seats with heating and cooling features and genuine wood and metal trim.
Production of the 2019 Ram 1500 Limited Kentucky Derby Edition is limited to 2,000 units.
