2018 Chevrolet Custom Edition Coming Soon

Written By, Jordan R.

Chevrolet is really doing some interesting things with technology these days, more so implementing it into their vehicles at more affordable prices and for everyday use. First off, there is a new Chevrolet Tahoe trim called the “Custom Edition.” Unlike other limited and special editions though, the Chevy Tahoe Custom Edition is a bargain.

Chevrolet Tahoe Custom Edition

Already a staple on Chevy’s SUV lineup, the Chevy Tahoe is powered by a powerful V8 engine. The new Custom Edition package is special package for the base Tahoe LS trim, and it is packed with nifty tech. The details are just starting to pour in, and here’s what we know so far.

On the outside, the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe Custom Edition has painted 18-inch aluminum wheels with all-season tires and a chrome grille. The 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 is still under the hood, but consumers can opt in for either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. With the 5.3L engine, the Tahoe’s towing capacity is 6,600 pounds, but the available max trailering package brings that up to 8,600 pounds.

Driver comforts like an 8-inch touchscreen featuring Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto are only the beginning of all the nice features. The Tahoe is also equipped, with remote start and a rear-view camera, and the Tahoe Custom Edition also has a full safety upgrade, keeping families in mind. Chevy’s tracking and guidance system for teen drivers called the “Teen Driver” system is also included. Buyers can also opt in to add on the Enhanced Driver Alert Package, which includes features like Lane Keep Assist, Low-Speed Automatic Braking, and Forward Collision Alerts.

Best of all, this new custom edition for 2018 is actually less than the price for the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe LS base trim. Weird, right? The cost for the Tahoe Custom Edition is said to be about $2,200 less than the starting MSRP - $44,995.

Other Nifty Tech

Just to squeeze in a little more technology news. Drivers of the Tahoe can download the myChevrolet app on their smartphone and with it, they can mobily control certain car features. With the app, users have the ability to remotely start or stop the engine, lock and unlock the doors, activate and deactivate the horn or lights, even help you locate your vehicle and get walking directions to your parking spot. Well now, there’s a quicker way to do all of this with a flick of the wrist.

The myChevrolet app can now be downloaded onto the Apple Watch. Just use the app to link your smartwatch to your Chevrolet car and use myChevrolet to do all the things the smartphone app can do, including checking vehicle diagnostics and sending navigation requests to the car. The app is currently available in the U.S., Canada and Mexico and with three language settings - English, Spanish or French.

The 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe Custom Edition will be available September 2017. Interested in what else the Chevy Tahoe can offer? Check out our inventory for more details.
