The new truck has raised the bar among fans and critics alike due to its lighter, stronger and more advanced features. The redesigned 2019 Ram 1500 comes with an all-new eTorque 48-volt mild hybrid system, which supplies better fuel economy for both V6 and V8 engines and it also increases torque, which is very important when it 
comes to towing. All and all, there’s a lot to talk about in regards to the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 pickup.
The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 is available with two engine options. The standard engine is the well-known 3.6-liter Pentastar 24-Valve VVT engine with eTorque that generates 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Making this powertrain a hybrid-like pickup truck, the eTorque system is able to generate an additional 90 lb-ft of torque in addition to the original output.
The other engine available is the legendary 5.7-liter V8 HEMI MDS VVT engine that delivers 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Also built with an eTorque system, this engine produces an additional 120 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are designed with variable valve timing (VVT) technology to optimize their engine’s performance and fuel economy. A TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission is also paired to both engines.
Many changes have been implemented to make the all-new 2019 Ram 1500 the best model thus far. Positive changes start with the truck’s weight reduction as the truck is 225 pounds lighter, and 100 pounds of that weight is due to changes made to the frame. Still built with the same previous impact countermeasures of the old model, the new 2019 Ram 1500 is built from 98 percent high-strength steel and several components are made from aluminium. New air suspension systems were also installed, along with Frequency Response Damping (FRD) shocks, and the largest front brake rotors in the light duty pickup truck segment.
Towing capacity and payload have not yet been measured for each engine, but numbers have been released, for one of the engines. Currently, the 2019 Ram 1500 is said to be able to tow up to 12,750 pounds and carry a payload of 2,300 pounds.
An off-road package has been added to the 2019 Ram 1500 lineup, and it is available for almost every trim. The package adds a one-inch suspension lift, with or without the available four-corner air suspension, an electronic-locking rear differential, and 32-inch on/off-road tires on 18-inch (standard) or 20-inch (available) wheels to provide additional grip. Consumers and other drivers on the road will know this truck goes off-road, denoted by rear-fender decals equipped with the 4×4 Off-road Package. The transfer cases have also been upgraded with BorgWarner 48-12 for part-time 4WD operation with Hi and Low ranges and the BorgWarner 48-11 for on-demand 4WD.
The Ram 1500 Rebel returns for 2019, and it’s even more durable than before. Featuring new 18-inch wheels with 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires driven by an electronic-locking rear differential, the Rebel comes standard with coil spring suspension, a one-inch factory lift, and designed Bilstein shocks. Ram’s active-level four-corner air suspension is available for the Rebel, and both, the Rebel and trims with the off-road package get robust skid plate protection (transfer case, steering, engine and gas tank), tow hooks, and hill-descent control for added off-road capability.
The body of the 201 Ram 1500 is lighter, longer, and wider, and it still has improved aerodynamics with sharp body lines and a forward-leaning front grille opening. There are actually six new grille designs available on the 2019 Ram 1500 lineup. We also noticed slanted LED headlights (with an adaptive front-lighting system available), but low-tier trims will most likely come with standard halogen headlamps. All-new tail lamps also come with the same available variations.
A new 33.3-inch by 43.4-inch panoramic sunroof is an available option for anyone who wants 10 square-feet of sky, sunlight, and breeze. The famous RamBox Cargo Management System has returned better than ever, now featuring a 115-volt outlet and relocated overhead lighting for improved illumination. It’s still weatherproof, lockable, and designed with drainable storage bins built into the bed rails (raised by 1.5 inches). A segment-exclusive full-width chrome stamped-steel rear bumper makes up the rear of the truck, and the 2019 Ram 1500 may ride on a variety of wheels ranging from 18 to 22 inches. Twelve colors will be available for the body paint, including four new colors – Billet Silver, Tri-coat White, Patriot Blue, Diamond Black Crystal.Interior
The interior of the 2019 Ram 1500 pickup truck is larger than the previous year, which is always a benefit for everyone. The truck is available with an impressive 12-inch touchscreen infotainment control console in the middle of the vehicle, a feature that is unmatched by any other truck. Other great features include the push-button start, an electronic parking brake and the redesigned rotary e-shifter dial installed across the 
as a standard. The standard cloth and available leather both provide comfortable seating. Technological functions of the media hub have been upgraded though with five USB ports (three in the front and two in the back) to keep all kinds of devices charged via USB A and USB C. The 2019 Ram 1500 Limited is also quite wide and spacious throughout with 45.1 inches of legroom.
Cargo room overall has vastly increased inside the cabin. The center console received total makeover to make space for the new available 12-inch touchscreen, and there is also more internal storage. The new Ram 1500 is now available with more than twelve different storage combinations in the center console alone, with a wider docking area for optional wireless charging of a small tablet or smartphone, a deep storage tub designed for a 15-inch laptop and additional lined compartment under the center armrest, and another tablet holder for rear passengers behind the two cup holders. Plus, for the high-tier trims, the glove box can slide upwards to reveal a hidden cubby in the dashboard, and two RamBins can be found in-floor for more secretive cargo storage. Folding up the rear bench seat reveals under-seat compartments.
Ram wanted to impress anyone who entered the 2019 Ram 1500 as they solidly upgraded everything, especially for the luxury trims. Every all-new 2019 Ram 1500 is available the forementioned optional large 12-inch touchscreen and the most up-to-date Uconnect 4 system and both features enhance the vehicle’s entertainment and tech capabilities. Options include a dual-split screen function, available without navigation on an 8.4-inch display and Uconnect 3 with 5-inch display are offered. 4G Wifi hotspot capability is also available.SiriusXM 360, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Harmon Kardon 19 speakers with subwoofer, active noise cancellation and stands out amongst the luxury trims of the competition.
Also available is 4G WiFi hotspot availability and a 360-degree camera and exclusive content direct from SiriusXM with 360L.Also available is the SiriusXM 360L platform and it offers more variety, smart content recommendations, and limitless on-demand streaming audio. That makes the 2019 Ram 1500 the first vehicle to offer the SiriusXM next-generation 360L experience.
Drivers will appreciate the available safety features and available security features that have been implemented in the 2019 Ram 1500. From advanced multistage front airbags, supplemental front-mounted and side-curtain airbags to traction and stability control systems, a ParkView backup camera, and a Sentry Key theft deterrent system. Other available and advanced safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, advanced brake assist, forward-collision warning, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist, ParkSense park assist with reverse stop, Rear Cross Path detection, and 9-1-1 Call Assist. Not even half of these have been offered before on the Ram 1500, prior to this model year.
