Coupe: Aside from offering a different number of doors, the S-Class sedan and coupe are both very different vehicles. The coupe features a more sweeping roofline, and a more aggressive rear styling than the sedan.
The interior of the coupe is also slightly differed from the sedan, with a sportier overall look. The base coupe offers a 4.7-liter biturbo V8 engine, that makes 449 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque.
The higher-performing AMG S63 4MATIC Coupe gets 577 horsepower, and 664 lb.-ft. of torque, thanks to its handcrafted 5.5-liter AMG biturbo V8. For ultimate performance, drivers can opt for the AMG S65 Coupe that boasts an astonishing 621 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque.
This handcrafted 6.0-liter AMG biturbo V12 will take passengers from 0 to 60 in four seconds flat. 
Sedan: Drivers who seek the high-performance of a coupe, but the convenience of a four-door vehicle, the 2016 S-Class sedan is the perfect compromise. With multiple trim levels to choose from, including a hybrid variant, the S-Class Sedan is the pinnacle of the Mercedes lineup, and for good reason.
Both the S550 and S550 4MATIC sedans offer the same 4.7-liter biturbo V8 engine. The difference lies in the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, which differs from the S550’s rear-wheel drive system.
The S550 is also offered as a plug-in hybrid model, which houses a 3.0-liter turbo V6, along with a hybrid electric motor. Featuring exceptional fuel economy, the S550 Hybrid still manages to get 329 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque.
The S600 sedan is the next step up in luxury and power, featuring Mercedes’ 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine that can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds.
The AMG S63 4MATIC Sedan boasts a 5.5-liter AMG biturbo V8, that was specially handcrafted for the sedan and can go from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds. For drivers who want the most luxury and power, the 2016 AMG S65 Sedan has the 6.0-liter AMG biturbo V12 engine, and enough interior appointments and luxury comforts to satisfy the Queen of England.
