2016 Mazda CX-5

Mazda’s popular sport crossover SUV is a relatively new addition to the Japanese automaker’s lineup, having debuted just a few years back in 2013. The CX-5 was the first vehicle in Mazda’s lineup to feature their signature KODO - Soul of Motion Design language, which first debuted on a concept vehicle in 2011.

The Mazda CX-5 had another important first for the automaker, and was the first vehicle in the Mazda lineup to feature the full suite of Skyactiv Technology, which were released back in 2012.  The CX-5 shares a platform with the Mazda3 and Mazda6, but is classified as a compact crossover SUV.

More Spacious than the Competition

The 2016 Mazda CX-5 features enough seating for five passengers, and plenty of room for everyone, and all of their gear. The CX-5 has a passenger volume of 103.8 cubic feet, with plenty of legroom, headroom, and shoulder room to go around.

The SUV also features a cargo volume of 34.8 cubic feet with the backseat in use, and up to 64.8 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the back seat folded down. The Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson don’t even come close to offering that amount of interior space - which is one more reason that the 2016 Mazda CX-5 is a great vehicle choice for busy families on the go.
