BMW first created the M3 model in 1985, as a high-performance version of their already popular 3-Series. New Year, New Performance

The entire design of the brand new 2015 M3 was built around performance. The newest model has shed pounds, gained power, and even boasts an all-new lineup of exclusive M colors. The power behind the inline 6 engine, and the two updated TwinPower turbochargers delivers an impressive 425 horsepower, and 406 pound-feet of torque. That is over 111 lb.-ft. of torque increase from the outgoing model, and that is merely the beginning of what the M3 can offer in terms of performance. 

• Weighs Less - The newest M3 weighs up to 180 pounds lighter than the outgoing M3. This jaw-dropping number is thanks to the new engine brace, driveshaft, and carbon fiber roof. Other design elements also helped the M3 shed those pounds, including an all-new aluminum hood, and redesigned front wheel arches. Because of the weight lost by the M3, the sports car gains nine percent in its power to weight ratio - which is enough to make any driver happy. 

• New Exterior Design - Every bit of the exterior of the M3 was designed to both perform and impress. The aesthetic appeal of the 2015 M3 has increased, right along with the performance aspect of the design. A quad-bank exhaust system with chrome plated exhaust tips, and rear wheel arches work together to accommodate a wider chassis and track. Those elements help improve stability, and cornering, for an even more seamless driving experience. 

• New Braking Technology - It has been well established that the new M3 excels at reaching top speeds in record time, but how it performs when it comes time to stop, is a separate matter entirely. It is a matter that BMW engineers took seriously, and the result is perfection. The optional Carbon Ceramic brakes utilize a six piston system, for increased stopping power compared to the traditional four-cylinders. The unique rear-axle subframe is connected to the body of the M3 directly, giving drivers more control and agility on the open road.  

• Track-Inspired Shifting - The 2015 M3 allows drivers to shift like a pro, thanks to the 7-speed dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters. Four 12-volt power outlets throughout the cabin, as well as the iDrive system with an on-board computer, and BMW Navigation system are included standard to increase connectivity on the road.

• M-Specific Head-Up Display - See all of your pertinent driving information without taking your eyes off the road, with this full-color projection display. Your selected gear, speed, and shift lights are projected directly onto the windshield of the M3 for increased safety and convenience.  

• Driver Assistance Plus Package - This optional safety package adds a suite of advanced safety technology like Active Blind Spot Detection, and Active Driving Assistant to the M3.  Adaptive LED Headlights - These advanced cornering lights help drivers keep a better eye on the road, and see what is ahead, regardless of sharp turns, or tight corners.
